I can't believe it's been 10 days since Isla June was welcomed into the world! It really does fly by. Anyone who has or has had an infant can probably agree and understand that it's so easy to look at the clock and say "I can't believe it's ______ already! I haven't gotten anything done yet today!" But, right now I am trying to focus on being present in Isla June's life and spending as much time with her as possible. This is proving to be difficult as I just finished one online class and am in the process of completing another. One day at a time, that's our motto.
On Monday, June 21st, Isla June had her first doctor's appt. I met with a doctor at High Point Peds while I was pregnant and am so please with her (I think I mentioned this earlier). Isla June was up to 7 lbs. 12 ounces and has grown 1 inch, which is quite an ompresssive accomplishment in 5 short days! She has no signs of jaundice and is obviously eating well, and is soiling the appropriate amount of diapers, so the doctor is pleased, and so are we.
Yesterday, June 24th, a Smart start nurse came out to the house to see us (it's a free program through the hospital, how great is that?!?) and she said everything looks good, answered some of my questions and asked questions about my prental care, my own personal recouperation, and about Miss Isla June. She weighed Baby J and she is now up to 7 lbs 15 ounces. Again, we are so excited. We suspect she is now 8 lbs.
She is such an amazing baby. I can't believe she is up 9 ounces in 10 days! ( And I've already lost 19 lbs! Woohoo!)
Here's some pics to enjoy, we love, love taking her photo. She is a funny little lady.
