Isla June handled the first bottom two teeth so well (except for the ear infection....) that I wasn't sure how we were going to fare for the next ones. For the past couple of weeks, she has been a little fussy. Nothing too bad, just fussy. And she isn't a fussy baby, so I knew something was up. On yet another recommendation from Amy (gotta love another natural living kind of mom you can email!), I found out about the Amber Teething Necklace. I am always willing to take the all natural/holistic approach, and I just didn't see the point in pumping Isla June full of Tylenol just because she was fussy. So, I ordered one, and anticipated it's arrival. It really seems like these top two teeth are taking forever! (Did you know that you can actually see the teeth coming in from inside the gums, weird.)
Upon arrival, I immediately put it on Isla June. I'm not one for baby jewelry ( I think pierced ears on babies is, um.....well.....how do I put this...unnecessary.) But this was a pretty little piece of jewelry that I could tuck inside her shirt (which is better because it is supposed to be placed next to the skin for better affects anyways). I'm not going to say that I saw an improvement immediately, but on Saturday when she wore it, she was a smiling happy baby, and on Sunday (when I forgot to put it on her), she wasn't. I've noticed that she sleeps better when it is on too (I'm not recommending having your baby sleep in it, personal choices here people).
It is making a difference in our household. And I love that it's all natural. A happy baby is a happy mommy.
