A little John Hancock

Isla June has really been into coloring lately.  Like yelling, "colors!!" over and over again until you actually get the colors out.  Right now we are using markers (that are washable).  I haven't ventured into the crayons yet, I guess because she still can't take the top off the markers by herself yet, so I feel somewhat in control still.  It will be short lived, I'm sure.

We started with this little etchesketch though (I mean, that's totally a phonetic spelling).  She loved how little and compact it was (it goes everywhere with us), and the little magnet pen was a perfect size for her to practice her grip.  And it's a pretty impressive hand position if I do say so myself.  As a former educator, those things impress me.
But, she's looking very right handed (sorry mom)

She is very proud of her writing.  I think it makes her feel like a big girl.  Because mommy can write, she wants to write.

See that face?  very proud.

She told me she wrote a C and a X.

I can totally see it.

    1. Ha! Yes, she amazes me. But, she's really into letters right now, so she's soaking them all up. But, I don't think she actually meant to draw those letters, a happy accident!

I love your comments!
