What happened to summer? More specifically, where did August go?
What once felt like the days and weeks dragging on has now become a whirlwind of life traveling at a pace that I do not feel prepared to keep up with.
And that means that this little blog has sat empty. Because, let's be honest, I can barely find the time or energy to empty my dishwasher much less come to the computer and form coherent sentences.
But today, I will try. Because I need to remember this time.
This time when it was just the three of us.
I'm not really too overly sentimental about adding another one to our family. Maybe that's because Isla June is over the moon excited to meet this little one.
She needs a playmate.
OR maybe I'm in denial and all the emotions will come rushing in at the last minute.
Here's what the three (and 1/2) of us have been up to since the last update
I enjoyed not throwing up!
But, that meant gaining weight. And this belly grew fast once I was able to keep food down.
We spent a week in July with Hubs family in the Tennessee mountains.
10 adults and 8 kids all under the age of 10.
Crazy good times.
We hiked the Smoky Mountain National Park.
Yes, at 27 weeks pregnant I went on almost all of the family hikes.
We overheard many comments from other trail blazers saying, "well, if she can do it, I should be able to..."
Little did they know.....
Isla June is absolutely in love with all of her cousins.
She was born into the perfect, big family to keep her busy and entertained.
Funny enough, she spent most of the week running around with the big boys, convincing them to play hide-and-go-and-seek over and over and over again.
We visited Dollywood with the whole family.
Momma even got to ride some rides. Mostly Dumbo, but it was still so fun.
First theme park visited- check!
We immediately turned back around and headed to Florida to meet our newest and only cousin on my side of the family.
Little girl and I trekked 14 hours together in the car(28 round trip!).
But, this face was so so worth it.
We spent most of my sister's pregnancy talking to her via face time. So, Isla June knew exactly what was going on.
Little man's 2 week late arrival created the ringing call throughout the family, "Out, Out, Sebastian!"
A novel phrase thought up by Isla June.
Oh man, did she love on that baby.
And momma got good practice with handling two.
Let's just say it's going to be a one day at a time kind of thing.
And here's the honest truth- I've been sick. Like real germs sick.
Which is not easy for this "I haven't been sick in 2 years" lady.
But, it's just another part of this pregnancy I've come to accept.
At least this little one will have some good antibodies from me.
And, I've tried to be in the gym.
But, sometimes you've got to pick where your energy is going to go.
And most of my energy is sucked up by my no napping, "what are we doing NEXT?", full of energy, non-stop little three year old.
She keeps me busy enough.
And here we are now.
The nursery is almost complete.
Most of what we need we already have.
The rest can come later.
I've already started to listen to my hypnobirthing soundtracks.
Next week we'll install the car seat.
One bag has been packed.
I'll pack another one soon.
We're as ready as we're going to be.
