Cookin' Green

Now, don't be misled by the blog title as I am not going to share any cooking lessons/recipes/tips-in-the-kitchen ideas for you in any way shape or form. I mean, I've got NOTHING in that area. If that is something that you are looking for, head on over to my childhood friend, Cassie's blog. She's the gourmet goddess.
But, I digress. I just wanted to share a new green-living item that we have added to our household. Jer picked these up about a month ago,

They are the Cuisinart Greenware Cooking set (we don't have the colander though, boooo). Here's what Amazon has to say about them:

Cookware set is the eco-friendly way to make great meals. With Cuisinart Ceramica ceramic-based non-stick technology, cookware is petroleum free and is applied at a temperature one-half that of conventional non-sticks. Non-stick surface is also PTFE- and PFOA-free for healthier cooking. The aluminum pan construction provides superior heat conductivity which requires less energy to achieve desired cooking temperature. The riveted stainless stick handles stay cool on the stovetop and are made of 70% recycled stainless steel. Oven and broiler safe.

And, like I said, I'm not the cook. But, Aunt Jeje has used them and Papa Kenny has used them with good reviews (and Papa Kenny is a bit of a snob when it comes to cookware). I like the fact that I can boil baby bottle/pacis in a green-friendlier pot. From what I've read, it's the Teflon fumes that are bad in the other stuff (and what we used to use, whoops!) Plus, they are pretty cost effective. So, if you are looking to replace your old stuff, I'd recommend!

P.S. Even John and Sherry over at YoungHouseLove agree. Yeah, I call them John and Sherry, were close like that.

  1. 1. Yay for new cookware!

    2. I'm doing a vegetarian meal plan on the blog this week (posting on Friday). Maybe one or two of the recipes will be worthy of the new pots and pans!

    3. Not related to this post, but IJJ is getting so big! I cannot believe she's already six months old!

    xoxo

PS Thanks for the link, sweet friend!
