couch! ha! (I really do just amuse myself with these post titles....)
I am officially in training! For a 5k. Ok, so it isn't a marathon or even a half marathon, but it's better than nothing. Baby steps I say. And if you know anything about me, the fact that I am RUNNING ON PURPOSE is a miracle. I always lived by the motto that I would run if something was chasing me. Although, it would probably outlast me. Good thing I never had to test that theory.
Anywho, back to my training. I know I'm like the last person on earth to jump on the bandwagon (I hate bandwagons...), but I've started the Couch to 5K program (henceforth referred to as C25K). My sister-in-law, Julie introduced me to it during our vacation, and I was already doing some running (so it's not like I was starting from the couch position.). I'm actually running enough to be able to jump into the program at the 5 weeks 1 day mark. So that gives me 4 weeks until my 5k (it's a 9 week program). Now, I just have to find one....which is proving to be a bit of a challenge.
I have to say, that for someone who hates running, this program totally makes it doable and attainable within my parameters. This has always been a personal goal of mine ( I think I have secretly always wanted to be this really fit runner). 4 more weeks to go. Let's see if I can make it.
